Tiger Teams Fall in Region Games

Bolivar and Middleton struggled in the third quarter as they fell in a pair of region games.
Bolivar (1-4, 0-2) led 17-14 at the half, but were outscored 21-13 in the third and lost 35-30 to McNairy Central. The Bobcats scored with 9:56 left in the third, then scored 14 seconds later as a deflected pass ended with a pick-six for McNairy.
Bolivar did manage to take a 30-28 lead with 5:16 left in the third quarter, but McNairy scored the final touchdown of the night less than two minutes later. The fourth quarter was scoreless.
Jalen Crisp led Bolivar with 105 yards on 17 carries, including a 30-yard touchdown in the first quarter.
Micah Gaines and Jar Lewis were named the Vaughan Oil Players of the Game for the Tigers.

Middleton (1-4, 0-2) trailed 24-16 at the half, but couldn’t catch Bruceton as the Tigers fell 38-22. Middleton trailed 12-8 after the first quarter.
Middleton is idle on September 14, and will resume play September 28 at McEwen.
