Tiger Football Ends in Playoffs

Bolivar Central saw their season end with a 41-13 loss to Raleigh Egypt on November 2 in the first round of the TSSAA State 3A Playoffs.
Bolivar scored on successive drives in the first half to take a 13-6 lead with 5:16 left in the second quarter, but could not stop the Releigh Egypt offense as they scored twice in the final 5:16 of the half and on the first drive of the second half to pull away.
Correy Brown, who ran for 138 yards on 22 carries with a touchdown, was named the Vaughan Oil Player of the Game, while C.J. McMahan was named the Defensive Player of the Game.
On the night, the Pharoahs averaged 11.7 yards per offensive play, while limiting the Bolivar offense to less than five yards per play.
The loss dropped the Tigers to 6-5 on the season, having lost four of their final five games. The Tigers qualified for the playoffs for the third year in a row, something not done by Bolivar since a five year run from 1997-2001.
