Season comes to end for Middleton tennis

The Middleton boys tennis team ended their regular season with a pair of losses on the road, including losing to Scotts Hill 6-1 on Monday, April 20, and Madison Academic Magnet 7-0 on Tuesday, April 21, before losing to Haywood 5-0 in the first round of the district tournament on Thursday, April 23.
Scotts Hill 6 Middleton 1
In Monday’s match up against Scotts Hill, Middleton was 1-4 in singles and 0-2 in doubles.
In singles action, the only Middleton player to get a win was Matthew Whitaker, who defeated Landon Meeks 8-3. In other match ups, Logan Franks lost to Jacob Scott 8-1, Nate Foster lost to Dylan Herrington 8-1, Caelen McPherson lost to Stephen Messick 6-1, and Nick Thompson lost to Matthew Kidwell 8-1.
In doubles action, the team of Caelen McPherson/Logan Franks lost to Jacob Scott/Dylan Herrington 8-0, and Nick Thompson/David Lor lost to Stephen Messick/Matthew Kidwell 6-0.
Madison 7 Middleton 0
In Tuesday’s match up against Madison, Middleton was 0-5 in singles and 0-2 in doubles.
In singles action, Logan Franks lost 8-0, Caelen McPherson lost 8-1, Nick Thompson lost 8-0, and Matthew Whitaker 8-0. Game five was forfeited by Middleton.
In doubles action, the team of Caelen McPherson/Logan Franks lost 6-0, and Nick Thompson/Matthew Whitaker lost 0-6.
