Middleton Earns Playoff Spot

Middleton’s second year soccer program is going to the playoffs.
“We improved quite a bit,” said Coach Steve Pickens. “We are much more experienced.”
The club is 2-5 with five matches remaining. But one of the wins, a 4-3 road win over Milan in overtime, got the Tigers into the playoffs.
Middleton’s other victory also came on the road, a 6-3 win over Fayette Ware.
Pickens said his team learned a lot last year.
“We played varsity teams, but didn’t play a district schedule. But this year the TSSAA added a single A soccer classification.”
This season, Middleton added three players from Bolivar.
