BMS Head Football Coach Brian Mays discusses strategy with his players.

Mays leads the BMS Tigers

By Jennifer Smeltser Considering Coach Brian Mays has held the head football coach position at Bolivar Middle School (BMS) before, one cannot refer to him as the “new head coach.” Mays has coached football for more than 20 years between Bolivar Central High School (BCHS) and BMS his entire tenure, except for two years while serving a tour of duty in Iraq.“I use coaching as my therapy,” said Mays. “I get outside with a group of young men; you cut up with them and have a good time, and hopefully you’ll develop them and be a positive role model in their lives.” Mays played under Coach Steve Young at BMS and graduated from BCHS in 1989. After graduation, Mays continued to the University of Mississippi(Ole Miss) on an athletic  scholarship from where he graduated in 1993. To view more please log in or subscribe to the digital edition. http://www.etypeservices.com/Bolivar%20Bulletin-TimesID502/
