League Titles on the Line in Dizzy Dean Baseball
Two league are still wide open while two teams have clinched regular season championships in Dizzy Dean baseball with a week and a half to play in the season.
The tightest race is in the 10U league, where WMOD and Merchants and Planters Bank are tied at 6-4, with two games left. The teams have no games scheduled head-to-head but WMOD holds the tie breaker, having won the season series 3-1.
The 6U league is also in doubt, with Farmers Insurance (8-1) holding a one and a half game lead over Nelms Auto Body (6-2) in the 12-game schedule.
Two leagues that are settled are the 8U league, where The Gym (10-1) holds a two game lead over Rotary (8-3) with one game to play and Bolivar Insurance and Real Estate (7-2) in the 12U league, who clinched first with a doubleheader win over both Star Physical Therapy (5-4) and the Bank of Hardeman County (1-7) on May 23.
The Dizzy Dean Girls Softball leagues are all decided with a few games to play, except for the 10U league that has Stemz (7-5) leading Two Little Hoots (5-7) with two games to play. Champions in the 6U are H&R Block (8-1-1), Hyman Tire Service (11-0) in the 8U league and The Bank of Hardeman County (9-0) in the 12U league.
