Lady Tigers Earn Substate Game

Bolivar Central will continue their game against Covington in the Region 8AA final on May 16, after the game on May 15 was suspended for rain in the bottom of the second inning with the Lady Tigers leading 1-0.
The Lady Tigers won 24-0 over Memphis Melrose on May 13 to get them into the region final.
The Lady Tigers are 17-5 on the season and will play either Jackson South Side (32-7) or Lexington (42-4) on May 17 in an elimination game.
If Bolivar wins the substate game, they would be scheduled to play May 21 at either Starplex or McKnight in Murfreesboro. The tournament is double elimination.
Although records are incomplete, it is believed the last time Bolivar qualified for the region tournament was 1989.
