The Gym wins 5-6 years old Dizzy Dean title

When the Bolivar Dizzy Dean regular season ended on Saturday, June 6, there were still four teams atop the 5 and 6 years old division. Hyman Tires, David Dorris Logging, The Gym, and Home Run Pizzeria, each with a record of 10-5. League officials decided to hold a three game playoff among the four remaining teams to be held on Monday, June 8.
In Monday's opening game, David Dorris Logging defeated Hyman Tire 13-4, while the second game saw The Gym shut out Home Run Pizzeria 10-0 in a game that was shortened due to rain, which also forced the final to be moved to Tuesday, June 9.
In Tuesday's final, The Gym jumped out to an early advantage, scoring four runs in each of the first three innings, while their defense only allowed David Dorris Logging Co to cross the plate three times.
David Dorris Logging did manage to close the gap in the final stanza, scoring six runs, but it was too little too late, as The Gym won 12-9.
After the game, league officials handed out first place trophies to each player of the Gym, who finished the season with a record of 12-5.
