Grinding with the Grizzlies

The Bolivar Parks and Recreation Department have partnered with the Memphis Grizzlies this season as a sponsor of their youth basketball leagues.
“It’s been a different experience and we’ve enjoyed it so far,” said Bolivar Parks and Recreation Director Curtis Stack. “We’ll assess the success of the program and see about next season.”
The Junior Grizzlies program gives each kid a basketball and a free ticket to a Grizzlies game during the regular season along with a reversible uniform top and shorts. The team names are created by the leagues themselves.
The Junior Grizzlies website says more than 7,000 kids from all over the Mid-South participate in the program.
