Generals snap losing streak, tie win streak
ve a hot bat going as they snapped their losing streak with three wins in a row after they took a 7-2 victory over the Mobile BayBears on Saturday, June 13. The three game win streak is only the second time the Generals have made a three game victory run in this season.
The Generals also gained their first series win in over a month when they defeated the Biloxi Shuckers in three out of five games in the series.
Jackson’s hot batter Dario Pizzano once again came through for them as he smashed a two-run double down the right field line, driving in Ian Miller and Dan Paolini, to put the Generals up 2-0. In the fifth inning, Jackson put three more on the board against Arizona propect Braden Shipley.
The speed of Miller was a little too much for the BayBears as he stole second after hitting a single to put him on base. Tyler Bortnick, reliable hitter for the Generals, drove in Miller on an RBI after having three hits in the game. Bortnick has brought runners across the plate in all three games he has played for the Generals. Bortnick later crossed the plate after Dario Pizzano drove in the RBI, followed by Tyler Smith knocking home an RBI double to left-center which put the Generals up 5-0. Smith’s RBI double caused the BayBears to take Shipley off the mound.
