Generals to honor service members and veterans

From the time they have been the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx throughout the transition to Jackson Generals, the Seattle Mariners Minor League team that makes its home in Jackson has made efforts to salute veterans, current and active service members, and to show their patriotism. This year will be no exception.
The Generals frequently give free general admission tickets during their National Guard nights and other promotions for military and their family, but this year their Fourth of July Celebration takes another twist.
The team is planning on honoring local servicemen and women, as well as veterans, in West Tennessee after their game on July 3 with the Mobile BayBears. In order to make this successful, the team is asking for help from fans and military families. They are requesting photos and information to be sent into the team of local servicemen and women who currently serve or have served in the past.
At the conclusion of their game against the BayBears, the Generals will provide their annual fireworks spectacular but will accompany the fireworks with photos of local military members incorporated into the fireworks display. The postgame video montage featuring local military members will play on the scoreboard during the fireworks display.
The Generals are asking fans to submit military photos, information such as rank, branch, other pertinent information, to the team by email at sgodlewski@jacksongeneralsbaseball.com or nthomas@jacksongeneralsbaseball.com
