Generals fall to Biscuits in tight match

The Jackson Generals remain in the bottom of the Southern League North standings after a 20-27 record after falling to division rival the Montgomery Biscuits, who are a right above the Generals in the standings with a 23-26 record on Thursday, May 28.
The Biscuits almost doubled the amount of total hits in the game against the Generals with 14 hits to Jackson’s 8 for the game. Defeating the Generals 4-3 was not an easy run, however, for the Biscuits.
It took 12 innings and almost four hours of baseball for the Biscuits to come out on top. Although the Generals took an early lead with Ian Miller reaching home plate after Jack Reinheimer’s single in the bottom of the first inning. However, the hitting and runs would slow for both dugouts throughout the game until the fifth inning.
Montgomery rallied in the fifth and took a 2-1 lead against Jackson’s Jake Zokan, beginning with Tyler Goeddel’s one-out single and continuing with Patrick Leonard’s RBI double to bring Goeddel to theplate. Leonard scored the go-ahead run when Justin O’Conner put a single through the middle.
