Errors costly for Middleton boys vs. Scotts Hill

A series of errors proved costly for the Middleton Tigers, as they were downed by Scotts Hill on both sides of a double header at home on Monday, April 20, 5-0 in the first game, and 7-2 in the night cap.
“We actually out hit Scotts Hill in the first game, but our hits all seemed to come at a bad time,” Middleton Assistant Head Coach Terry Mills said.
Several Middleton players did manage to get on base with a hit during the game, including Caleb Crum, Ethan Marcum and Eli Richardson, but none of them were able to cross the plate for the Tigers.
Game two was more of the same. Middleton got several hits and two players did manage to cross the plate in this game, but it was not enough.
“We actually hit the ball well all day, but unfortunately, several errors at inopportune times really cost us,” Mills said. “ It seems like it has been that way all season. Our guys play hard and put out a lot of effort every game, but missed opportunities and errors have hurt us all season, but I think that we are starting to put things together. We are not where we need to be yet, but we are getting there.”
Middleton’s record is now  2-15 for the season. They are scheduled to face Madison Academic Magnet on Wednesday, April 29 to see who will get the final spot in the district tournament.
“We should be fairly competitive with Madison,” Mills said.
