Bolivar Teams Bring Back Three State Titles

Three of four Bolivar teams that went to Germantown for the annual West Tennessee State Championship came home with the hardware as Bolivar won five of the eight games between the teams over the June 28-29 weekend.
The closest series of the four was in the 10U division, where Bolivar dropped the first game by a 13-12 margin, but charged back to win 15-9 to force a third game. Bolivar scored 16 runs in the final two innings to win 27-10.
The 12U squad won 9-5 on Friday night and then won an early tightly contest game two, as the offense woke up in the closing innings, 14-5. Caleb Sowder pitched the final three innings of shutout baseball in the win.
The 14U team won two straight against Germantown, beating the host 8-1 and 9-5.
The lone setback for Bolivar were the 8U squad, which lost 18-4 and 23-8 on Saturday.
The series between the towns that began in 2014, is now tied at 13 apiece, with Bolivar winning 30 games to Germantown’s 29.
