Bolivar Sweeps Millington

Bolivar Central got a pair of wins on January 22 against Millington to keep both teams in the top half of the district standings at the half way point in the league season.
The Lady Tigers, led by Hailey Hardaway with 32 points, led by only five at the half, but used a 20-7 run in the third quarter to pull away for a 59-34 win. Carly Daniel had her fourth double-double of the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds. The Lady Tigers (9-9, 4-1) are one game behind Covington for the District 15AA lead.

The Bolivar boys (11-6, 3-2) got a 61-57 win over Millington, but had to overcome poor execution on both offense and defense to get the victory.
“We didn’t play well,” said Head Coach Rick Rudesill. “But we played hard. I’m just glad it was enough to win.”
Bolivar is tied for third in the district with Fayette Ware, one game behind Covington and Haywood County.
