Bolivar Middle Secures Top Seed

Bolivar Middle School secured an undefeated county season with a 13-0 victory over Hornsby on March 27 to grab the #1 seed going into the Eighth Annual County Journal Hardeman County Baseball Tournament on April 7 at the Bolivar Optimist Field.
Defending champion Middleton will play Hornsby on April 3 to determine the #2 seed.
The tournament will begin with Bolivar facing the #3 seed in the opening round game followed by Middleton and Hornsby in game two. Bolivar and the #2 seed will face off in the third game, with the winner emerging either based on an undefeated record in the tournament or by run differential. In the seven year history of the tournament, the championship has never been decided by run differential.
Bolivar Middle School won the tournament from 2011-2014, but haven’t won it since. Middleton broke the streak with a win in 2015, Hornsby won 2016 and Middleton beat Bolivar in extra innings to win the 2017 trophy. The April 7 tournament will be broadcast on WMOD (96.7 FM) Radio.
