Bolivar Clinches Playoff Spot

Bolivar Central clinched a TSSAA Playoff spot by beating Martin-Westview 47-20 at UT Martin on October 20.
Bolivar trailed in the first half by a 13-12 score, but tallied the next 35 points to put the game away.
Senior quarterback Trey Lowe completed 14 of 19 passes for 350 yards and four touchdowns. Two Bolivar receivers, Josh Sturgis (four catches, 131 yards) and K.J. Murden (five catches, 109 yards) tallied more than 100 yards for the second time this season.
Running back Correy Brown ran 14 times for 115 yards and three touchdowns. Brown also caught a touchdown pass in the win.
Lowe was named the Vaughan Oil Player of the Game and Christian Matthews, who had 11 tackles, was named the Defensive Player of the Game.
Bolivar’s win clinched their third consecutive year they qualified for the playoffs, something no Bolivar team had done since 2001. Coach Woodrow Lowe’s career record at Bolivar now stands at 23-18. Lowe is the first coach with more than three years of experience with a winning record since Errol Hook, who coached from 1975-1983, according to the Tennessee Prep database.
