BMS Wins Middle School Championship

Matthew Boatwright of Bolivar Middle School drove in the tying run and then scored the winning run on a passed ball as Bolivar Middle School scored five in the final inning to beat Hornsby 7-6 in the championship game of the Hardeman County Middle School tournament in Bolivar. Boatwright got the pitching win in game two of the tournament, an 8-5 win over Middleton.

Game one saw Hornsby beat Middleton 8-7. Middleton scored three runs in the final inning to close the margin to one run before Kaynan Swift came on to close out the game in relief of Colby McQueen, who got the win, and Clyne Walton.

Peyton Maxwell was the winning pitcher in the championship game for Bolivar, pitching the final two and two thirds innings in relief of Kingston Golden.
