BMS track performs well in track meet

The Bolivar Middle School (BMS) track team competed in the April 16 track meet in Jackson and many placed in the top five and top 10 in their contests.
Kemya Allen placed sixth in the 100 M. dash, Brianna Bryant placed second in the 800 M run, Shakiya Blakemore placed third in the one mile run, Aamya Poplar placed sixth in the 200 M. dash, Evan Harper placed fifth in the one mile, Cornelius Hussey placed third in the 200 M. dash. The girls one mile relay team placed third, with team members Tamya Blakemore, Brianna Bryant, Shakiya Blakemore and Kemya Allen. The boys 800 M. relay team placed fifth with team members Cornelius Hussey, Keith Murden, Marquez Wilks and Rico Odom.
Allen completed the 100 M dash with a time of 14:35. Blakemore finished the one mile run in 7:13.32, Harper completed the one mile in 6:12.38 and Hussey completed the 200 M dash in 26:78. The BMS boys 800 M. relay team finished with a time of 2:03:57, the boys one mile relay team finished with 5:08.50. The girls one mile relay team finished with a time of 5:36.22.
