BCHS Tiger Kaleb McKinnie takes the ball down the court against Arlington.

BCHS wins one and loses one

The Bolivar Central High School (BCHS) Tigers travelled to Jackson-Central Merry (JCM) on Tuesday, November 24 and returned home with 67-38 win for the Lady Tigers and an 85-56 win for the Tigers.

“Athletically, JCM gave us problems, but we were still able to open up a pretty big lead,” said BCHS Coach Rick Rudesill.

Rudesill was able to give his Lady Tiger subs a chance to play, but had to bring in his starters to maintain the lead and finish the game with the win.

Rudesill gave his subs an opportunity to play, but had to bring back his started to increase the lead.

“All in all we did a good job handling the pressure and taking the lead,” said Rudesill. “Our starters took care of the lead and kept it when they were on the floor.”

The Tigers did not start of as strong against JCM, but were able to eventually

“Although we were not playing well, we were able to stay in the game,” said Rudesill.

The game continued to be close into the third quarter, which is when BCHS was able to take the lead and later in the fourth quarter, then win.

Arlington came to BCHS on Tuesday, November 25 and took wins with 65-55 from the Lady Tigers and 73-46 from the Tigers,

“Arlington is a state-runner up,” said Rudesill. “Our girls made some big plays and came close, but missed the chance of beating a good team.”

.”Our boys have done well against better teams, but we were unable to win,” said Rudesill. “We need to get serious, learn what we need to do and apply it.”

BCHS plays away at Haywood on Friday, December 5.
