Baseball and Softball Plan for June

The Bolivar Lions Club decided unanimously to begin planning for Dizzy Dean Baseball and Softball to start June 8, as long as the COVID-19 orders from Tennessee Governor Bill Lee’s office expire on May 29.
There will be a final sign-up May 30 at the Bolivar Lions Club Building from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. All age groups for both the boys and girls leagues will be accepted.
The season, tentatively scheduled to begin June 8, will run through June and into July, but plans for postseason play within the state is unknown.
The national Dizzy Dean organization will not host the World Series in 2020.
“Dizzy Dean Baseball sanction fees have been waived and each state will have the authority to have a State Tournament should things clear up in time for them to do so prior to school starting in August. We wish all of you the best and will be available to assist in any way that we can during this unprecedented time in all of our lives. Keep your family safe and we look forward to seeing all of you in Southaven in 2021,” said National Commissioner Danny Phillips.
