TCAT-Whiteville receives accreditation

On March 13, Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT)- Whiteville received official notification from the Council on Occupational Education they had met all the requirements of the commission and were granted accreditation for another six years.
The Commission of the Council on Occupational Education met on February 21-22, 2015. At that meeting, the Commission reviewed TCAT- Whiteville’s Self Study, Team Report, and supporting documents for reaffirmation of accreditation.
Reaffirmation denotes an institution has maintained quality programs, undergone an extensive self-study, has gone through the team review process, and has met the Commission’s Standards and Conditions of Accreditation.
September 8-12, 2014, Tennessee College of Applied Technology- Whiteville hosted the accreditation team for Council on Occupational Education. According to TCAT Director, Carolyn Beverly, “many hours of preparation took place prior to the visiting team arriving on campus. It was a team effort. Every employee had a role to play in the success of the evaluation.”
The Council on Occupational Education visiting team consisted of Dr. Harry Bowman from Clermont, Florida; Terry Williamson from Rome, Georgia; and Paul Fair from New Iberia, Louisiana.
TCAT- Whiteville is governed by the Tennessee Board of Regents, located in Nashville.
