Hodge stands with the play’s cast

The play’s the thing

Bolivar Central held their annual spring play this year on April 23rd. Bolivar Central’s theater class always performs a Christmas and a spring play. With less than four weeks to work on the last minute play, the theater class managed to pull together and bring a successful performance to the stage.
The theater class consists of seniors only. With graduation nearing in just a few short weeks, this performance was the last big bang that the seniors will experience on Bolivar Central’s stage in their high school career.
This play was called Just another Day at the Diner, and it was a new play Debra Hodge wrote while on Christmas break. In the play, you experience rude customers, the kindling of a new romance, a psycho ex, and a convicted murderer. A good laugh is all you can really be sure to expect from the unpredictable life at Jake’s diner.
All of the credit is not due only to the students, however. None of this would be possible without the drama teacher. Debra Hodge is the mastermind behind the famous plays. Working as the director and the writer of all of Bolivar Central’s original plays, Hodge works her magic on and off the set, ensuring that the performance is a spectacular one. Hodge’s great wisdom and knowledge will be carried on through all her students as they take the next big step in life after graduation.
