Hardeman County well represented in 4-H public speaking contest

Hardeman County students did very well in this year’s 4-H Southwest TN Sub-Region Speaking Contest, which was held on Monday, April 6, at Bolivar Middle School, earning one First Place Plaque, four Blue Ribbons.
Students competed from eight counties across Southwest Tennessee, including Shelby, Tipton, Fayette, Hardeman, Chester, Haywood, Madison, and McNairy.
Topping the list for Hardeman County was Josie Ingle, a seventh grader from Toone Elementary who took First Place for her speech entitled  “Life, it’s all about the journey, not the Destination”.
Ingle has been participating in 4-H competitions since the fourth grade, but this is the first year she has advanced past the county competition. She said she enjoys public speaking because of the impact that can be made in other people’s lives.
