FHU awards degrees to Hardeman County students

HENDERSON— Three students from Bolivar were among more than 250 graduates who participated in Freed-Hardeman University’s spring commencement exercises Saturday, May 16. John Law, 1989 graduate and vice chairman of the FHU Board of Trustees, delivered the commencement address.
Those receiving graduate degrees were Shauna Bell, Education Specialist; Devon Lake, Master of Arts in Teaching; and Shemon Reaves, Education Specialist.
Law, who serves as chief operating officer of property and casualty operations at Farm Bureau Insurance of Tennessee, urged graduates “to live a life of distinction.” Law also encouraged students to pursue a higher level of learning and begin the transition from beneficiary to benefactor.
Freed-Hardeman University is a private, four-year university. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to offer bachelor’s, master’s and education specialist degrees, as well as a doctorate in education.
