Carly Weems and Brandon Burvee receive Arts Council scholarship

Each year the Hardeman County Arts Council (HCAC) offers a scholarship to a deserving senior from Bolivar and Middleton High School.  The applicants must meet the criteria set by the HCAC, and major or minor in the arts or arts related fields.  Degree programs in art, music, drama, literature, and creative writing, as well as teaching in these areas or related fields, may be considered. MHS did not submit an application.
This year, the HCAC is proud to announce Carly Weems and Brandon Burvee as the recipients of the 2015 Arts Council Scholarship.
Carly Weems is the daughter of John and Laura Weems. Carly is a graduate of Bolivar Central High School. She plans on attending Jackson State Community College and majoring in Business, Art and Design.  Carly’s extra-curricular activities include Book Club-president, SGA- president, Science Club, Future Teachers of America, Beta Club, Yearbook Staff and several minor roles in HCAC productions.
Brandon Burvee is the son of Jason Burvee. Brandon is a graduate of Bolivar Central High School.  He will attend Jackson State Community College and major in Business Management. He plans to attend a career technology school to further his knowledge in sound and audio.  He is active in Future Teachers of America, Sound and Lighting for school and HCAC events.

The Arts Council congratulates Carly and Brandon on receiving this scholarship and wishes them much success in their career chosen field.  We sincerely thank all the other applicants who applied for this scholarship.
