Caps, Gowns, and Tears

“I feel grateful and extremely proud to be a part of the 2015 graduating class,” Mallory Lowery, senior student, commented.
Seniors have been restless since the end of prom on April 18. With nothing remaining to look forward to except graduation, the class has been anxious and antsy as they have counted down the days until May 14. With all of the awards and recognition out of the way, classes have become more difficult to focus on. Finals seemed to be the only obstacle in the seniors’ path. The moment was both a moment of elation and heart ache as the reality of graduation set in. there were few dry eyes in. The room after Barnes explained that that meeting would be one of the last of the entire senior class’ together.
“It’s over now and I’m glad to finally have my long-awaited cap and gown. Now all that I have left to do is walk across the stage and continue on with my life,” senior student Jessica Johnson expressed.
“I’m happy, but at the same time I’m sad,” senior student Kayla Sanders remarked. “I’m ready to move on with the next part of my life, but I’m not quite ready to grow up.”
Senior Leslie Lax also described her feelings on the topic, stating, “I feel accomplished and this is a very bittersweet moment for me and my classmates.”
