Barron receives scholarship

On the morning of Friday, May 15, Fayette Academy held their annual High School Awards Ceremony in the Viking Center to recognize student achievements. Of the awards and scholarships presented was the Viking Band Booster Scholarship, which is a $1000 college scholarship awarded to a single band senior for their noteworthy accomplishments in the Fayette Academy Viking Band Program.
This year’s recipient was percussionist Blake Barron. Blake has served as section leader for the past three years at Fayette Academy and has also participated in multiple honor bands over the years, including the UT-Martin Honor Band, University of Memphis Honor Band, and the All-West Honor Band.  Blake will be attending college at the University of Memphis, where he will continue his musical pursuits in the Tiger Band Program.
