Willie Jerry Rhodes

Willie Jerry Rhodes, the fifth of six children of Norman Rhodes and the late Mable McNeal Rhodes, was born on August 29, 1939 in Whiteville and bid his farewell on May 9, 2015. He graduated from Allen White High School, Whiteville in 1959 and for a short time attended Tennessee State University, Nashville and Jackson State University, Jackson, MS. He served in The United States Navy and was discharged in Norfolk, VA on July 13, 1965 where he made his home for a number of years prior returning to Jackson, MS. He was a member of Elcanaan Baptist Church in Whiteville and Farish Street Baptist Church, Jackson, MS.
