High School Hoops Begin in Hardeman County

Hardeman County high school basketball teams began their first week of play with victories for three of the four teams on opening night.
On opening night for Middleton, Tylandarius Parks had a game-high 27 points as Middleton hammered Memphis Westwood 70-40. The girls also had a successful opening night for Coach James Burkley, winning 71-18. Sequoia Warren led Middleton with 23 points.
Opening night for Bolivar was a 61-35 win for the Lady Tigers behind four players in double figures led by Hailey Hardaway with 20 points. Also in double figures were Kamya Brown with 13, and Alexius Futrell and Raquel Hardaway had 11 each.
The Bolivar boys, despite 23 points from sophomore Jeff Norment fell 90-81 to Liberty on opening night. See more scores on A16.
