The Best Christmas Present Ever

Carisa Young and her mother experienced a crisis with Young's two month old son, Jaiden Prewitt, while in route to take him to the doctor on December 13.
The baby stopped breathing, and her first instinct was to seek refuge at Grand Junction Elementary School. The grandmother was met at the entrance by Principal Linda Buggs and Mrs. Natasha Foppiano. The grandmother was very distraught informing school personnel that her grandchild was not breathing.
The principal called 911, and the CPR team was called to the office. CPR was administered until the first responders arrived on the scene, and then they took over. The ambulance transported the baby to Bolivar General Hospital. Warner Ross, Director of Schools, and Lisa Raines, Director of Health Services, commended the team for a job well done.
