Middleton Police Department moving to old Middleton Bank location
The Middleton Board of Aldermen is in process of interviewing applicants for Chief of Police. Applicants will be screened prior to the March meeting. The board also asked the current members of the department for their input regarding hiring of another patrolman.
In other police business, the board agreed the department could move from its current location into the old Middleton Bank Building. This move will be completed as soon as possible.
Since the building is larger than the police department will need, the board discussed other uses for the unoccupied portion of the property. One idea was establishment of a city museum. They made a decision to hold a town hall meeting at the community center on March 8 at 6:00 p.m. to ask citizens of Middleton for input.
Fire Chief Tommy Seever reported the turnout gear previously ordered was due for delivery Thursday, February 18. All breathing apparatus has been tested.
