Middleton native meets Biden

On Feb. 17, Vice President Joe Biden visited the Norfolk Southern Memphis Regional Intermodal Facility in Rossville. The purpose of the visit was to celebrate the seventh anniversary of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act commonly referred to as the “stimulus package”. Aimed at bringing the U.S. out of the “Great Recession” by bringing jobs to Americans and creating public works projects, the Rossville facility was built using funds from that stimulus.
Middleton native, Rodney McAlpin, is an engineer with the Norfolk Southern Railway. He and three other N.S. employees were at the facility to give the V.P. a ride around the rail yard if he wished.
