Twas the Night Before Christmas
Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring and thanks to technology, plugging in those blinking things, not even a mouse. The waders were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that mega migrations would
soon be there.
Ben and Pee-Wee were nestled all snug in their beds while visions of treats and roadside kills danced in their heads. When way up in the night sky. There came such a chatter.
I sprung from the bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like flash. In hopes that tomorrow they would fall with a crash. The moon shined on the new fallen snow. It sure would hide our blind below. When what to my wondering eyes I see, bunches and bunches which filled me with glee.
With little ole Suzie so lively and quick, we knew before long she’d be roasting on a stick with mallard’s and widgeon with pintails in trail, we knew this was not a good time to give
them the hail
Know Knuck, now J.L., L.J. and James
get ready, get ready, they’re playing our games. From the left, from the right even out front, giving us a chill. We knew in seconds, there’d be plenty for the grill. And then after “get em” some hit the roof after pounding and pounding, in the water laid its proof. After lowering my bead and was looking around, J.L. and L.J. were in the boat with a bound.
The memories were there with a lot of high fiving, when we noticed in the buck brush a cripple
was diving. With a shout and a boom its cripple was done, we knew now we would unload the guns.
They heard Hoot say as they flew out of sight, Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
Hoot
Note: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
