Santa rides to town in style at the Middleton Christmas Parade

Middleton Christmas Parade pulls out all stops

The Middleton Christmas parade wasn’t exactly “planes, trains, and automobiles” but it took a shot at it! Held on December 12, cars, trucks, tractors, horse drawn buggies, and floats of many shapes and sizes paraded past a crowd estimated by officials to be well over 2,000. That number didn’t include approximately 300 active participants.
“We had about 60 entrants. That didn’t include police, fire, and other emergency vehicles,” said Mayor Jackie Cox. “We didn’t have a Grand Marshal this year. Instead, the parade was dedicated to Jerry and Betty Mills. Betty actually spearheaded the creation of Middleton’s Christmas parades and has always organized it. She wasn’t able to do that this year but her knowledge and records from past years really helped the parade’s organizers to get the job done.”
