
Montrez Jones buzzer beater lifts Bolivar Middle over Whiteville
The Bolivar Middle School Tigers won a over the Whiteville Middle School Lions on Thursday, November 12, winning 41-39, after Bolivar’s Montrez Jones hit a layup at the Buzzer to Give Bolivar the two-point win.
The two teams stayed close all night. Bolivar held a one-point lead after the first period, but Whiteville fought back and had a two-point lead at the break. By the end of the third period, Bolivar had a three-point lead, but Whiteville stayed in it, and tied the game at 39-39 with less than a minute left, but Bolivar had the ball, and Jones drove down the lane at the buzzer for the two–point 41-39 win.
Jones led all scorers with 15-points, while Whiteville’s B.J. Wiley and Jeff Norment had 12-points each.
