Frances Kowen Green celebrates 100th birthday

Frances Kowen Green has seen and done a lot in her first century, including setting up more than 20 houses all over the country before finally settling in Bolivar in 1997.
“I have either outgrown or out lived my house, my money, my teeth, my sight, and my men. You name it, and I have out grown it or out lived it,” Green said.
She was born May 25, 1915 in Providence City Texas, but moved around quite a bit, living in six states over the years, mostly in Texas and Alabama, but also in Oregon, Missouri, Arkansas, and Tennessee.
“I will always be a Texan at heart,” Green said.
