Rhea sworn into office

After the unanimous vote by the Bolivar City Council during the April council meeting, Suzanne Rhea was voted to take the office and complete her husband’s term as city councilman. David Rhea passed away from cancer and his wife, Suzanne, was sworn in by city attorney Steve Hornsby to finish the final two years of Rhea’s term.
“A couple weeks before he (David) died, he had made the decision to resign. We knew the prognosis was not good,” Rhea said. “He said I don’t want my voice to not be heard so he asked me if I would take the position.”
Rhea said she was going to continue ensuring the city would complete the long range planning for the city since it was something David wanted to see accomplished.
