ThyssenKrupp Elevator receives sustainability award

Middleton’s ThyssenKrupp Elevator plant has been awarded the LEED Gold Certification for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance. The plant is the only elevator factory in the world to be so honored.
Almost 1,000 guests, company executives, and employees attended a celebration highlighting the company’s continued commitment to the environment and the communities in which it operates.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification is awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) which sets the standards for the certification. The LEED rating system is the accepted benchmark, internationally, for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings.
