New Offices for Highway Department

The Hardeman County Highway Department and the City of Bolivar agreed in principle for the former Health Department Building, located at 300 East Jackson Street in Bolivar to be used by the Highway Department.

Hardeman County Highway Superintendent Casey Swift said they would renovate portions of the 7,900 square-foot facility, which includes fixing the roof in order to house administrative offices for the department with other portions renovated if other county offices were in need.

And while Bolivar City Mayor Julian McTizic said the attorneys would have to work out the details, it was agreed that if the building stopped being used by the county, they would return the deed for the property to the city.
