Saulsbury pursues cleanup of blighted property
In the absence of Mayor Jim Daniel, Vice-Mayor Rich Emerson presided over the May meeting of the Saulsbury Board of Aldermen.
In its first order of business, following the financial reports, the board voted to move five hundred dollars from the city’s reserve fund balance to the “street lights” line of the budget. Later, under old business, the board held and unanimously approved the final reading of the city’s 2015-16 budget.
In other old business, Emerson brought the board up to speed on progress the city has made regarding clean-up of the crumbling structures on Main Street.
“Mayor Daniel has attempted to contact the affected property owners by phone and e-mail,” said Emerson. “At this time he has been unsuccessful in his efforts.”
