Old Favorites Open Music on the Square in Bolivar

The Hardeman County Music Commission will open their 10th season of Hardeman County Live on May 12, with The 10-0-C Band and Brian Lee Howell as Elvis providing the entertainment.
Music on the Square began in 2008, with performances during the summer as part of the promotion of the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. and the Hardeman County Chapter of the Association of Preservation of Tennessee Antiquities (APTA) hosting an exhibit called “New Harmonies ~ Celebrating America Roots Music.”
The idea was to have free concerts on the town square every Friday night for one month to promote the exhibit. The idea was so successful that the city and the Bolivar Downtown Development Corporation asked to continue all summer. The APTA did and “Music on the Square” was born. Both Ten-0-C and Howell, along with Billy Kennedy and SmallShack provided the entertainment that summer free of charge.
Music on the Square is overseen by the Hardeman County Music Commission.
