Morris Celebrates 100th Birthday

Curtis H. Morris, a lifelong resident of Hardeman County, invites his family and friends to join him for cake and ice cream at Dixie Hills Baptist Church on September 28 at 1 p.m. Mr. Morris was honored at homecoming at Dixie Hills Baptist Church on September 15, 2019.
He was born on a farm near Vaughn Road and Silerton Road in 1919. He has worked as a sharecropper, in logging, a sawmill worker, a farmer, and he worked for Baker Mfg Company in Bolivar for over 50 years. He then retired to work in his own cabinet shop until the untimely death of his son, Curtis Wayne Morris. He lived to work and contributes hard work to his longevity in life.
Mr. Morris is an accomplished fiddler. His love of music allowed him to play other stringed instruments in addition to his fiddle. He played fiddle for the real barn square dances in his younger years and later in life with local bands here in Hardeman County.
