Middleton city council meeting focuses on law enforcement and economics
Monday evening the monthly Middleton city council meeting convened. First on the itinerary for Mayor Jackie Cox and the aldermen was resolution 2015-06. The board and aldermen presented the resolution to ThyssenKrupp Elevator Americas (represented by Pat Ginn) in recognition for winning the 2015 Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Award- Category Pursuit of Excellence.
The resolution stated, in part, “ThyssenKrupp Elevator Americas has demonstrated a commitment to our environment that will pay dividends for current and future Middleton residents. The quality of our environment will directly impact our quality of life, impacting how Middleton residents live, work and play. The Board of Mayor and Aldermen wish to thank ThyssenKrupp Elevators America for their contribution and commitment to this effort.”
After the resolution, Pat Ginn spoke about an upcoming recent risk assessment with the insurance company. Until the completion of the risk assessment, they (ThyssenKrupp) are implementing a program of allowing off duty Middleton policemen and off duty sheriff patrol that are paid (by ThyssenKrupp) to be stationed at the gates of the factory. The City of Middleton off duty police are using city police cars to be transported to and from the factory.
