Mayors proclaim October Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Hardeman County Mayor Jimmy Sain and Bolivar Mayor Barrett Stevens read a joint proclamation declaring October 2015 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Hardeman County during a special ceremony presented by WRAP (Wo/Men’s Resource and Rape Assistance Program) on the steps of the Hardeman County Courthouse on Wednesday, October 28.
The mayors were joined by WRAP advocate for Hardeman and Chester counties Sonya Soler, and Bridgett Lockett, Shelter Plus Program Manager, who were on hand to give out information about WRAP, and answer any questions about the program.
After the reading of the proclamation, several balloons were released in honor of those affected by domestic violence.
