Rev. Ricky Watkins, Pastor of Middleburg Baptist Church presents the message at the Community Thanksgiving Service of Worship.

Local churches host joint Thanksgiving services

The Hardeman County Ministerial Alliance, along with the Hardeman County Baptist Association held a Community Thanksgiving Service of Worship on Wednesday, November 25, at Union Springs MB Church in Whiteville.
Participants from 10 churches across the county came together, across racial barriers to offer praises, and thanks for another year.
According to Bishop Jesse Williams, one of the coordinators of the service, this has been done for about 35 years now. Every year, the location changes. They also alternate preachers from year to year.
Rev. Ricky Watkins of Middleburg Baptist Church delivered this year’s sermon, and special music was provided by the West Tennessee Hardeman County Association Choir.
A special collection was taken up for the Hardeman County Ministerial Alliance Transient Fund.
The evening ended with the congregation linked hand in hand in prayer.
