The Grand Valley Lakes POA lodge is in need of some upgrades and repairs. A heat pump was installed this past week. Myra Cox, President of the Board of Directors is currently seeking bids for additional items needing attention.

Grand Valley Lakes Board has quiet October meeting

The regular monthly meeting of the Grand Valley Lakes Board of Directors was held in the property owners’ lodge on Friday, October 9. The agenda was unusually light with very little business.
The board did approve the purchase and installation of a heat pump for the office/reception area. The old unit had stopped working during the last days of summer. The installation, which was completed during the past week, will allow the area to be heated more efficiently than using the gas system.
There was a lengthy discussion concerning the collection process for delinquent dues. There are quite a few lot owners who are in arrears. In the past these accounts were turned over to the association’s attorney for collection after a delinquency of 24 months. This has been reduced to 18 months at this time. After the attorney receives the request to proceed with collection,  additional months are required to navigate the legal system. Director Ron Scott questioned the necessity for such a long period of time from initial delinquency until successful collection. After some discussion, the board determined that it would be prudent to consult a local attorney specializing in real estate law. Hopefully there will be a collection method that will produce faster results.
