Bemis Heritage Days May 15-16

The Bemis Historical Society will host its annual Bemis Heritage Days event on Friday and Saturday, May 15-16.  The event will be held in the Bemis Mill Village Museum building on  North Missouri Street in Jackson.  
The Friday night event will be from 4-9 p.m. and will feature musical acts and a bar-b-que dinner.  
Festivities will kick off with a plate bar-b-que dinner at 5 p.m.  Visitors can enter the historic museum building to view displays and enjoy a night of music.  The musical part of the evening will feature the W.S. Holland Band from 7- 9 p.m.
Saturday events run from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.  A self-guided CD tour of Bemis, narrated by historical society member June Holloway, will be available beginning at 9 a.m.   Free health checks will be provided by local Walgreens representatives beginning at 10 a.m.  An exhibit by the Peace by Piece Quilt Club will be located inside the museum.    Bar-b-que plates will be sold starting at 11 a.m.  
A host of storytellers will “spin Bemis yarns” starting at 1 p.m.  There will be an informational meeting from 2:30-3 p.m. for people who are interested in the work of the Bemis Historical Society and Historic Bemis itself.
