Activist Donates Ten Commandments

An 83-year-old conservative political activist, constitutionalist and minister vistited the Hardeman County Sheriff’s Department as part of her twenty plus year mission to personally supply each interested Sheriff in Tennessee with a framed display of the Ten Commandments, the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights. The display is titled "The Keys to Americanism", which she began having made around 2003.

This effort is a portion of her work which began in 1997 to “restore the right to post God's Law.” The displays must be requested by each sheriff for their respective department, as Ms. Griffin does not solicit requests.

Griffin, a member of the Tennessee Sheriffs' Association, said the displays are gifts to the sheriff's office, not the sheriff specifically. They are intended to remain in the office from one administration to the next, she said. These displays are paid for by Ms. Griffin and bear the plaque: Donated by June Griffin, Tennessee Committee for the Bill of Rights.

Though she is in her eighties, Ms. Griffin expects to have all 95 county sheriffs boasting these declarations of our freedoms before she is finished
