Senior Citizen Center offers answers to MediCare questions

The Bolivar Senior Citizen Center will be providing a free program to anyone who has questions about Medicare.
June Carney, with the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), will be available at the Senior Citizen Center Building from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Monday, June 15, to present information about Medicare, Medicare counseling, Original Medicare information, Medicare Advantage, prescription drug expenses, Medigap Insurance, Medicare supplements and Long Term Care Insurance.
The SHIP Program is a nationwide program sponsored by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The program is sponsored in Tennessee by the Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability as well as the Statewide Area Agency on Aging and Disability Network.
The number of Americans covered by Medicare has risen from 13 percent in 1990 to just over 15 percent today.
